1. Surface linear velocity of spindle: under the condition of the same diameter, oil seals made of different materials have different ability to adapt to the linear velocity of axial surface rotation. The relationship is shown in the following figure. The linear speed range of oil seal is generally less than 15m/s.
2, temperature: due to friction between the surface of the rotating shaft and the sealing lip of the oil seal, the temperature of the sealing lip is higher than the temperature of the oil, and the temperature of the lip edge of the oil seal is higher than the temperature of the working medium 20~50℃. As the speed increases, the pressure increases and the temperature at the sealing lip rises.
The working temperature range of the oil seal is related to the material used in the oil seal: when the material is butyl rubber (NBR), it is -40~120℃, Alec rubber (ACM) -30~180℃, fluorine rubber (FPM) -25~300℃.
3, pressure: oil seal is mainly used in no pressure or under the condition of micro pressure, the maximum working pressure 0.02 ~ 0.05mpa. When the working pressure exceeds this value, the pressure resistant oil seal should be selected.
4, dust: in order to prevent pollutants, dust, and moisture from entering the sealing chamber from the air side, it is recommended to use oil seal with dust lip. In case of serious contamination, it is recommended to use two oil seals, installed one front and one back in series.
