Overview of Gear Accuracy

Apr 20, 2022

Gear accuracy refers to a grade divided by the comprehensive error of the gear shape, including some important parameters such as tooth shape, tooth direction, radial jump, etc. The tooth shape refers to the radial shape of the tooth, and the tooth direction refers to the longitudinal direction of the tooth. Shape and radial jump refer to the error of the distance between two adjacent teeth. Generally, the gears used in our automobiles can be processed by hobbing machines, and can be used in grades 6 to 7. However, some printing machines require high-speed operation and batch printing, so high precision is required. Gears reduce the error caused by the accumulation of gears and reduce the printing effect, while the domestically produced gear grinding machines can be processed to 4~5 grades, the imported high-precision gear grinding machines can be processed to 3~4 grades, and more Some can be machined to level 2. The Japanese standard DIN 0 level is equivalent to the 4th level of the Chinese evaluation, the general error is in μm, 1μm=0.001mm
