How To Use An Air Compressor Oil Level Gauge

Jun 05, 2023

1. Locate the oil level gauge on the air compressor. It is usually a sight glass or dipstick.
2. If there is a sight glass, ensure that the compressor is turned off and the oil has settled for at least 10 minutes. Then, check the level of oil by looking at the sight glass. The oil level should be between the minimum and maximum marks on the sight glass.
3. If there is a dipstick, ensure that the compressor is turned off and the oil has settled for at least 10 minutes. Then, remove the dipstick and wipe it clean. Reinsert the dipstick fully into the oil reservoir and remove it again. The oil level should be between the minimum and maximum marks on the dipstick.
4. If the oil level is below the minimum mark, add the recommended oil to bring the level up to the maximum mark.
5. Check the oil level regularly and change the oil as recommended by the manufacturer.
